I Liga: Académico reinforces defense with Spanish player Miguel Brau

Académico de Viseu made official the signing of Spanish left-back Miguel Brau, 24 years old, on a season-long loan. The player arrives at the Portuguese club loaned by Coventry City, an English Premier League team.

Miguel Brau is from Barcelona and came through the youth academy of Granada, another Spanish club. This transfer marks his debut in Portuguese football.

The left-back was part of the Coventry City squad that became champions of the Championship in the 2025/26 season, thus securing promotion to the Premier League. Brau will play at Estádio do Fontelo, home of Académico de Viseu.
