Luís Montenegro participated via video call at the PSD Summer University, where he answered questions about Social Security. The prime minister reiterated that there will be no structural changes in this area during the current legislative term. Montenegro stated that his desire is to reach a national consensus on Social Security, acknowledging that it will be necessary to "break a lot of stones" to carry out any change. The prime minister specified that, should he ever propose a structural transformation in this area, it will be done based on a commitment made to the Portuguese people before the next legislative elections. Social Security thus returned to being a prominent topic, this time in the context of the PSD event, although Montenegro was not physically present.
