The Coastal and Border Control Unit (UCCF), through the Coastal Control Sub-Detachment of Vila Real de Santo António, carried out a chase operation in the Algarve that resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of drugs.

The operation made it possible to seize 5.3 tonnes of hashish during the chase in the district of Faro.

Seven people were arrested as part of this anti-drug trafficking operation in the Algarve region.

The police authorities acted in coastal and border control, intercepting the illegal cargo that was circulating in the Algarve area.
