The Beira-Mar club is fighting for the survival of its squash section, which could disappear due to the dismantling of the two courts at the University of Aveiro. The sport is at risk of ending at the Aveiro club.
Leader Manuela Nunes, described as a "golden-black" in reference to the club's colors, did not hold back in criticizing the decision. She expressed her displeasure regarding what she considers a harmful decision for the practice of squash at the club.
The dismantling of the university courts represents a direct threat to the continuity of the section, as Beira-Mar depended on these facilities for the practice of the sport. Without a viable alternative, the survival of the section is compromised.
The situation arises in a context of difficulties for the Aveiro club, which sees one of its sports sections facing an uncertain future. The squash community at Beira-Mar now awaits a solution that allows keeping this sport alive at the club.
