On the early morning of August 28, Portugal experienced a special astronomical moment. Two weeks after a solar eclipse, the Moon went through a deep partial lunar eclipse. For about three hours, the Earth's satellite crossed the Earth's shadow.
The partial phase began at 03:33 and, as the Moon entered the shadow, its light transformed from the usual tones. At 04:13, almost the entire lunar disk was immersed in the umbra, the darkest zone of the Earth's shadow.
The phenomenon was documented with images showing the different phases of the eclipse, capturing the transformation of lunar light during its passage through the Earth's shadow.
