From Lula's 'Pixuleco' to Tarcísio in Barretos: actions at TRE-SP double compared to 2022; PT leads requests

The number of lawsuits against candidates from São Paulo more than doubled at the start of this electoral campaign compared to the same period in 2022. According to a GLOBO survey, in the first ten days of the campaign, starting on August 16, 44 representations were filed at TRE-SP by parties, candidates or the Attorney General's Office, against 21 in the same period of 2022. If the period between January and August of each year is considered, the increase in electoral actions doubled, going from 76 to 153.

Among the main complaints are irregular propaganda, dissemination of fake news and personal offenses. The leader in actions at this moment is PT, which filed five representations. The party filed two actions against Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos) and two against Guilherme Derrite (PP), both targets of multiple complaints.

PT also filed a representation against Ricardo Salles (Novo), a Senate candidate. The complaint refers to the placement of a "pixuleco" of Lula dressed in prison clothes at Salles's campaign committee. Derrite, from PP, is also a Senate candidate and appears among the most sued at the start of this campaign.
