MTG-I2 satellite departs aboard Ariane 6 and completes European weather constellation

The MTG-I2 satellite was launched from French Guiana aboard the Ariane 6 rocket, thus completing the first trio of Third Generation Meteosat satellites within the European weather constellation.

This launch ensures the full operability of the system, enabling the acquisition of high-resolution data and images every 2.5 minutes.

The new constellation represents a significant advancement for weather forecasting and early warning of extreme weather events.
