This week is shorter for residents of cities in 14 states across Brazil. On Friday, August 28, more than 20 municipalities have celebrations that pause the routine. Among the states with days off are Alagoas, Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, and Goiás, among others.

Acre stands out with Bank Workers' Day, which is celebrated statewide and applies to most cities in the state, potentially affecting the routine of workers beyond the banking sector.

Some municipalities celebrate the anniversary of political-administrative emancipation, while others reference religious dates. Several cities commemorate the day of Saint Augustine, and others celebrate patron saints such as Our Lady of Grace, as is the case of Luciara, in Mato Grosso, which has its own celebration date.

Among the examples mentioned are Lagoa da Canoa in Alagoas, Pauini in Amazonas, Ruy Barbosa and Santa Brígida in Bahia, Palmácia in Ceará, and Aporé in Goiás, all with municipal holidays on this date.
