Chega/Açores announced it will present a preliminary proposal for the creation of a national airfare and an inter-island fare, aimed at domestic tourists visiting the Azores region. The proposal aims to allow these tourists to have access to fairer prices on air travel.
The party states that when territorial continuity is discussed, one cannot forget that the Azores are also Portugal, emphasizing the need to guarantee equitable conditions for those living on the mainland who wish to visit the archipelago.
This initiative by Chega/Açores comes within the context of the debate on air connectivity policies for the region, considering that air travel costs represent a significant obstacle for many domestic tourists who would like to visit the Azorean islands.
