Quaest: ACM Neto reaches 39% in the race for the government of Bahia, against 37% for Jerônimo Rodrigues

The Quaest survey released this Thursday reveals that ACM Neto, candidate from União Brasil for the government of Bahia, appears with 39% of voting intentions in the first round, while current governor Jerônimo Rodrigues, from PT, totals 37%. The difference is within the margin of error of 3 percentage points, configuring a technical tie between the two main candidates.

The remaining candidates have modest results: Aroldo Felix (UP), Maria Bona (PCO), Ariel Capistrano (DC) and Ronaldo Mansur (PSOL) appear with 1% each. Of the total interviewees, 12% declared themselves undecided and 8% said they will vote blank, null or won't vote.

The scenario indicates a tight race, similar to the 2022 election, when Jerônimo Rodrigues defeated the carlista in the second round with 52.78% of the votes. The PT campaign seeks to link the governor's image to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who will be on the agenda with Jerônimo this Friday.

On the other side, ACM Neto works to keep the electoral debate focused on state issues, with emphasis on public security. The carlista will have a candidate for Senate by PL, but the text was interrupted before completing that information.
