TSE schedules Tuesday trial for case about Bolsonaro deepfake

The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, the trial of the action filed by the PT against the use of a video produced with artificial intelligence that reproduces the image and voice of former President Jair Bolsonaro, shown during the PL convention that formalized the candidacy of his son, Jair Bolsonaro, to the Senate. The Brazil of Hope Federation argues that the content constitutes premature electoral propaganda and violates rules prohibiting deepfakes to favor or harm candidacies. The case is considered pivotal for the TSE to establish parameters on the use of AI and deepfakes in the 2024 elections.
