Court orders eviction from former Inmetro building occupied by more than a hundred families in Rio Comprido

The 27th Federal Court of Rio de Janeiro granted an injunction to the Union determining the repossession of the old Inmetro building on Rua Santa Alexandrina in Rio Comprido, which has been occupied by about a hundred families since August. The occupation was organized by the Movement of Struggle in Neighborhoods, Villages and Favelas (MLB), which announced the action as the "rebirth" of the Luiza Mahin occupation, aimed at the defense of popular housing.
