Flights from Santos Dumont are being diverted to Galeão after accident involving small aircraft

All flights scheduled to land at Santos Dumont Airport in Rio de Janeiro were diverted to Galeão following an accident on the runway involving a light executive jet, the twin-engine Embraer EMB-500 Phenom 100. The aircraft lost control and went into the grass area of the airport. The runway is inoperative with no forecast for reopening, and passengers reported flight cancellations at the location.
