Minas Gerais mobilizes security forces to capture jaguar trapped in tree, but animal comes down and flees into the woods

The Military Fire Department of Minas Gerais was called out on Thursday morning to capture a puma spotted at the top of a tree in Araxá, in the Triângulo Mineiro region. The Fire Department team called in the Military Environmental Police and a veterinarian to assist with the containment and capture procedures. The procedures began at 9:45 AM, and tranquilizer darts were fired to safely subdue the puma. After one of the shots hit the feline, the animal showed signs of lethargy but managed to climb down from the tree and flee into a nearby forested area.
A jury is deciding the fate of Lindsay Clancy, an American mother accused of killing her three children. PSP was called to the sports holiday camp of the Maia City Council after a suspicious substance was found in the backpack of a participating child. Authorities collected the product for laboratory analysis and are investigating how the substance got into the minor's backpack, in a manner still unknown.
