Consortium gains ground as financial planning tool

oglobo27 August 2026 at 19:34

The consortium, historically seen merely as a means to acquire high-value goods, has evolved into an essential tool for Brazilians' financial planning. In 2025, the Consortium System recorded 5.16 million new adhesions, a 15% growth compared to 2024 and more than double the initial projection of 6%. The credits commercialized reached R$500 billion, with 12.76 million active participants in December. The president of ABAC attributes the growth to financial education and to the understanding of consortiums as a strategic planning tool, not merely for purchasing—integrating medium and long-term strategies for real estate, vehicles, financing payoff, renovations, education, health, and business expansion.
