Alison dos Santos breaks world record in 400m hurdles at Diamond League in Zurich

Alison dos Santos, known as Piu, set a new world record in the 400m hurdles by clocking 45.80 at the Zurich leg of the Diamond League, beating the previous mark by Norwegian Karsten Warholm by 14 hundredths of a second, which was 45.94. The Brazilian becomes the second athlete in history to break the 45-second barrier in the event, while Warholm finished second with 46.69 and Nigerian Nathaniel Mitchell took third. Piu arrives undefeated at the Diamond League final in Brussels on September 4 and 5.
