Brazilian athlete Alison dos Santos, known as 'Piu', set a new world record in the 400m hurdles by clocking 45 seconds and 80 hundredths during the Zurich leg of the Diamond League, beating the previous mark of 45.94 held by Norwegian Karsten Warholm since the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021. The Brazilian dominated the race from start to finish, crossing the finish line almost one second before Warholm, who ran 46.69.
