Vila-real defends institutional consensus and regrets the partisan use of FEMP ahead of the call for gatherings for Ceuta

The Vila-real city council (PSPV-PSOE and Compromís) has decided not to participate in the rally called by FEMP on September 2nd in support of Ceuta, despite requests from the local PP. The government team has explained that it is not joining the mobilization because it considers that an initiative of this scope should have previously had the consensus of the Federation's governing bodies and with the participation of all political groups that comprise it, thus showing its defense of institutional consensus against the partisan use of FEMP.
Paulo Raimundo accused the Government of "throwing mud at the wall" regarding the promise not to touch Social Security during this legislation, considering that promise "is worth nothing".
Chega challenged the PS to make the party's proposals to lower VAT on fuels and the food basket viable, in a dynamic of political opposition regarding fiscal measures.
José Luís Carneiro again demanded a clear position from the prime minister guaranteeing that Social Security will not be privatized, reinforcing his opposition to any possibility of opening the Social Security system to the private sector.
