ILO Director proposes layoff of 120 workers due to late payments from the USA

The Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Gilbert Houngbo, has proposed the elimination of 120 jobs as an austerity measure in response to payment delays from the United States to the organization. Like other United Nations agencies, the ILO's finances have been affected by cuts in U.S. funding, which has forced the institution to implement cost-cutting measures to maintain its operations.
The European Commission announced the mobilization of one million euros to provide urgent health care, food and shelter to victims of the floods that affected northern Nepal, in the region along the border with China. This funding aims to support the necessary humanitarian operations to respond to the emergency caused by the floods in the Asian country.
Russia threatened to attack targets in the United Kingdom in retaliation for supplying missiles to Ukraine.
