Bahia is the Brazilian state with the highest percentage of Black women among female candidates, with 30.29% of the 416 applicants identifying as such — the only state in the country to exceed the 30% mark. When combined with Brown female candidates, the rate of Black women in the Bahian electoral race reaches 80.05%, significantly above the second state in the ranking, Piauí, with 71.85%. The data was collected by GLOBO based on official information from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
