Trump's adviser Devin Nunes said that the relationship between Portugal and the United States has never been better, during a visit to Lisbon. Nunes, who was formerly chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, also argued that Portugal should invest in the naval industry as a way to strengthen its strategic and economic capacity. This position comes in the context of bilateral relations between the two countries and Portugal's role in the Atlantic.
