Champions League will feature PSG vs Barcelona and Arsenal vs Real Madrid; see matchups

The UEFA draw set up major matchups for the Champions League league phase, including PSG vs Barcelona, Arsenal vs Real Madrid and Bayern Munich vs Manchester United. The tournament will maintain the format from recent editions, with no group stage. The 36 teams were divided into four pots by ranking, each team will play eight matches, and the top eight advance directly to the round of 16, while positions 9th to 24th go to the playoffs. The first round will be on September 8 and 9.

Alison dos Santos became the first Brazilian to set a world record in track and field events since João do Pulo in 1975, by winning the 400 meters hurdles at the Zurich stage of the Diamond League with the time of 45.80, surpassing the 45.94 of Norwegian Karsten Warholm, Olympic gold medalist in Tokyo 2021. The feat ends an interval of almost 51 years without Brazil setting a world best in athletics, since João Carlos de Oliveira jumped 17.89m in the triple jump at the Pan American Games in Mexico City in 1975.
