Without Castro, Douglas Ruas' first TV pieces will feature 'Rio real', subtle link to Bolsonaro and association of Paes with Cabral

Douglas Ruas, the PL candidate for governor of Rio de Janeiro, who is still unknown to 59% of fluminense voters according to a Genial/Quaquaest poll, will debut on free electoral airtime this Friday with a two-and-a-half-minute video presenting "a story of the real Rio." The piece, with little national focus, centers on Ruas's trajectory as president of the Legislative Assembly, but at one point associates him with the Bolsonaro family, omitting Cláudio Castro (PL), the current governor under whose administration Ruas served as secretary of Cities. In the video, Ruas contrasts the "postcard Rio" with the "Rio of Baixada, São Gonçalo, and the North Zone," presenting himself as a son of the state that "doesn't appear in soap operas."
