UEFA draw sets up Champions League matchups; follow live

Uefa held the draw for the 2026/27 Champions League league phase, maintaining the format adopted in recent editions, without traditional group stages. The 36 teams were distributed into four pots of nine clubs each, based on the Uefa ranking, and each club will play eight matches — four at home and four away — facing two opponents from each pot. The top eight campaigns advance directly to the round of 16, while teams positioned between ninth and 24th place compete in knockout playoffs. Teams from 25th to 36th are eliminated at this stage. The competition begins in September and the final round is scheduled for January 2027.

Alison dos Santos is the 1st Brazilian world record holder in track athletics since João do Pulo in 1975; see list

Alison dos Santos became the first Brazilian to set a world record in track and field events since João do Pulo in 1975, by winning the 400 meters hurdles at the Zurich stage of the Diamond League with the time of 45.80, surpassing the 45.94 of Norwegian Karsten Warholm, Olympic gold medalist in Tokyo 2021. The feat ends an interval of almost 51 years without Brazil setting a world best in athletics, since João Carlos de Oliveira jumped 17.89m in the triple jump at the Pan American Games in Mexico City in 1975.
