Renan calls himself 'a democrat,' and promises to work with parties: 'Voters will elect at least 300 criminals to Congress'

Presidential candidate from Missão, Renan Santos, stated in an interview with GLOBO, CBN and Valor that he is a "democrat" and is willing to negotiate with the Centrão to form a government if elected. Despite the statements, he made controversial comments claiming that voters tend to put "at least 300 criminals in Congress." Renan recalled that he learned to deal with the Centrão during his tenure as vice-president of the impeachment committee of Dilma Rousseff (PT) by the Free Brazil Movement (MBL), when he was 30 years old. The candidate also defended parliamentarism as a more functional system and explained that after winning the presidential election, he would need to hold a "second election" in parliament to form his support base.
