Presidential candidate for the Missão party, Renan Santos, criticized during a forum organized by O GLOBO, CBN and Valor the proposal to reduce the workday on the 6x1 schedule, defending the maintenance of the 44-hour weekly workweek. He argued that the change could increase informality, reduce revenue for Social Security and worsen the fiscal deficit, accusing the government of debating the topic in a "populist" manner. He also defended a review of labor legislation and stated that the Labor Courts should move toward "obsolescence and replacement."
