According to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal, intelligence information collected by the US suggested that Russia could be planning limited attacks — such as cyberattacks or small-scale incursions — against European targets in the coming years. President Donald Trump downplayed the visit, classifying it as "semi-routine" and rejecting any connection to Russian threats to allies. The Kremlin rejected the narrative as "alarmist".

Book by António Horta-Osório about antique chess collection wins award in the USA

The first volume of the book collection dedicated to ancient chess sets by António Horta-Osório won the Best Book of 2026 award, in its respective category, granted by the Chess Journalists of America. The work, dedicated to pieces from the Indian subcontinent, has 424 pages and more than 200 high-resolution photographs, being the first of six volumes planned to document the collection of the Portuguese banker, which brings together more than 600 ancient chess sets from various regions of the world. The second volume, dedicated to East Asia and Southeast Asia, is expected to be published by the end of 2026.
