CIA Director John Ratcliffe made a secret trip to Moscow on Tuesday with the aim of warning Russia against direct attacks on NATO member countries. According to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal, intelligence information collected by the US suggested that Russia could be planning limited attacks — such as cyberattacks or small-scale incursions — against European targets in the coming years. President Donald Trump downplayed the visit, classifying it as "semi-routine" and rejecting any connection to Russian threats to allies. The Kremlin rejected the narrative as "alarmist".
