Just over a year after the end of the Italian legislation and with the 2027 general elections approaching, politics in Rome is experiencing a sense of routine. Giorgia Meloni, leader of the Brothers of Italy party (heir to the post-fascist Italian Social Movement), came to power nearly four years ago and is now institutionalized, no longer seen as a threat to Europe. Through strategic pragmatism tactics, many Italians not only assimilate her but her power rests on a solid base. However, Meloni's pragmatic right wing faces growing pressure from the more radical flank within her own coalition, creating tension between institutionalized moderation and the more extreme demands of sectors of the right-wing electorate.
