More than 50 thousand fires in five years in Portugal

Over 50,000 fires broke out in Portugal over five years, causing devastation mainly in forest and scrubland areas. A concerning fact reveals that almost 70% of the burned area was more than 15 minutes away from a fire brigade, which highlights the difficulties in emergency response time and the challenges in fighting these fires.
