Collection of biometric data from foreign passengers becomes 100% from September 6th

Primeiro-Ministro Luís Montenegro visited Lisbon Airport to assess the preparation for the full implementation of the European Entry/Exit System (EES), which will begin collecting biometric data from all foreign passengers starting 6 September. This measure aims to modernize the control of European borders, automatically registering entries and exits of third-country citizens, including fingerprints and facial recognition.
