“Hoje, a vontade de poder é o desejo de aprender magia. Um mágico não dá ordens só aos humanos, ele coloca os elementos sob o seu comando”

"Today, the will to power is the desire to learn magic. A magician doesn't give orders only to humans — he commands the elements themselves."

Peter Sloterdijk, one of the most influential contemporary philosophers, participated in an episode of the Expresso philosophy podcast where he proposes a reflection on the relationship between magic, technology, and war. The philosopher argues that many mechanisms that shape the modern world are the rationalized continuation of ancient magical impulses, and uses the concept of "telemalignity" to explore how the capacity to act at a distance defines human experience in the era of drones, missiles, and global technologies. The lecture was held live in English, in Cascais.
