Trial of the September 11 mastermind, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, set for June 2028

The trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, considered the architect of the September 11, 2001 attacks, has been scheduled for June 2028. Mohammed was detained in 2003, passed through CIA black sites, and has been held at the Guantánamo Bay naval base since September 2006. Next September will mark the 25th anniversary of the attacks that killed approximately three thousand people.
