Love scammer caught buying 36,000-euro watch in Cascais

A man suspected of carrying out romance scams was arrested in Cascais as he was about to buy a luxury watch worth 36 thousand euros, in addition to other accessories of lesser value. The suspect, who had previously acquired an 11 thousand euro watch, operated within romantic scam schemes, deceiving victims through fake romantic relationships to obtain financial benefits. The arrest occurred at the moment the individual was making the purchase of the high-value watch.

Beaches closed to swimming

Several beaches in the municipality of Espinho were closed to swimming due to microbiological contamination in the water, leading to red flags being raised and increased alerts to swimmers and surfers. The closure covers beaches such as Rua 37, Frente Azul Sul, Frente Azul Centro and Seca, including zones such as Marbelo and Pop Norte. The Espinho Municipal Council is monitoring the situation "permanently" and admits that the problem may be related to the weather conditions of the week and the opening of the fuse dike at Barrinha de Esmoriz/Lagoa de Paramos.
