Justice in Rio upheld the ISS (Services Tax) charge on revenues from Rock in Rio Club, the Rock in Rio festival's loyalty program. Rock World, the event organizer, tried to overturn the charge arguing that the program only offered advantages to clients and did not constitute a service provision. The argument was rejected by the 7th Chamber of Public Law of the TJRJ, which determined that the program goes beyond discounts and priority ticket purchasing, offering first-class transportation, access to exclusive lounges, field and backstage experiences, guided tours, among other benefits. For the court, all of this requires organization and active execution, characterizing a service provision subject to ISS. The company also tried to compare the program with fan club membership plans, but the argument was also not accepted.
