Famous serial killer dies in prison without revealing where he left parts of the victims' bodies

The notorious British serial killer John Sweeney, known as the "Scalp Hunter," died at 66 on August 14 in HMP Whitemoor prison, Cambridgeshire, England, having never revealed the whereabouts of the heads and other body parts of his victims, which were dismembered. Sweeney, who had cancer, was convicted in 2011 for the murders of two ex-girlfriends: American model Melissa Halstead, 33, killed in 1990 whose torso was found floating in a canal in Rotterdam and remained unidentified for 18 years until identified through DNA, and Paula Fields, 31 and mother of three children. He left a disturbing poem about one of the victims, describing the crime.
A nine-year-old girl suffered serious injuries after falling from the second floor of a building in Caldas da Rainha. The PSP is currently investigating the circumstances of the accident, with no further details yet about what caused the fall.
