European Union says it expects 'Meta also protects' children from the European bloc after judicial settlement in the US

The European Union stated that it expects Meta to also protect European children and adolescents following the historic legal settlement in the United States, in which the company agreed to pay $17 billion (R$87.5 billion) and modify the design of Instagram and Facebook to reduce harm to young people's mental health. The European bloc reinforced that the same protection requirements must apply to European users.
