IGF inspectors have been part of RTP's governing bodies for at least 27 years

The Inspeção-Geral de Finanças (IGF), which identified improper subsidy payments at RTP, had four of its inspectors integrated into the governing bodies of the public company since 1999, that is, at least 27 years ago. The current RTP administration is unaware of the existence of any prior alerts about the payments now considered improper by the IGF, raising questions about financial supervision and the independence between the regulatory body and the company.
