Rescue teams enter second day of search for avalanche survivors in Nepal

Rescue teams entered the second day of searching for survivors of the violent avalanche of ice, rocks and mud that devastated the border between Nepal and China in the Tibet region. The disaster left at least 165 dead and more than 1,500 missing, including hundreds of foreigners, mainly Indian pilgrims heading to Mount Kailash, as well as mountaineers and tourists from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. Entire villages were swept away by the force of the flash flood, which destroyed houses, 40 kilometers of roads, bridges and a hydroelectric plant. So far, there are no reports of Brazilians among the victims.
