Fábio Scarano, curator of the Museum of Tomorrow and full professor of ecology at UFRJ, argues that it is necessary to imagine better futures to face the climate crisis. Leading the UNESCO Chair in Futures Literacy, he coordinates the first academic center in the country dedicated to futures planning, and participated in the first edition of the Brazil Futures Forum (BFF), an event that brings together researchers, business leaders, and cultural agents to discuss challenges of the coming decades. Among the objectives pointed out by Scarano are zero deforestation, low-carbon economy, climate justice, and sustainable productive technologies.
