China and India agree on new mechanisms to try to resolve border dispute

China and India agreed to create two new working groups on the border dispute and strengthen military communication channels, with a total of eight consensus points reached during a meeting in Beijing, Chinese diplomacy announced. The measures aim to reduce tensions on the border between the two countries, which have already caused deadly confrontations in 2020.
