Meta will block apps for minors at night and limit usage to two hours daily; understand the measures

Meta agreed to block Facebook and Instagram use by teenagers at night and impose a two-hour daily limit, as part of a $16.7 billion settlement with 47 U.S. states and territories. The measures come after accusations that the company deliberately designed its platforms to hook young users, deceived the public about the risks of use, and illegally collected data from children under 13, ending a historic trial against social networks.
