Oranges remain on hold: no purchases in Castellón despite the low harvest

The citrus campaign that will begin in just over a month in Castellón is once again characterized by production well below normal, but what worries farmers is the lack of interest from traders in buying fruit. Last season, with a similar harvest forecast, negotiations in the field could be counted in the dozens, but this year activity is zero. Roberto Vicent, a producer from Vilavella and responsible for the citrus sector of the Association of Valencian Farmers (AVA-Asaja) in Plana Baixa, describes the situation as "everything stopped, there is nothing, I have never seen such an atony."
Portugal is going to buy 75 armored vehicles from Spain for the marines, in an investment of 120 million euros fully funded by the European Union. The first vehicles, manufactured in Spain, should start arriving in the country next year.
