Gyrocopter hits cable car cables and leaves two dead in northern Italy; video

A gyrocopter hit the cables of a cable car near the Campliccioli dam in northern Italy on Wednesday (26), resulting in the death of two people. The aircraft fell in a grassy area on the banks of Lake Campliccioli and caught fire after the collision. The accident occurred around 11:30 am in the region of Antrona Schieranco, in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in Piedmont. The gyrocopter was carrying two people when it hit the cables of a cable car line used by the energy company Enel to access the dam. Videos of the moment of the impact and the fall are circulating on social media.
