US Army allocates nearly two billion euros for construction of small nuclear reactors

The United States Department of Energy has awarded a contract of almost two billion euros to the GE Hitachi consortium for the construction of 20 small modular nuclear reactors, which will provide clean and reliable energy to five military installations distributed across the country. The reactors, with a capacity of 50 megawatts each, represent a significant step in the modernization of American military energy infrastructure, reducing dependence on traditional energy sources and strengthening the energy security of military bases.
