Law No. 34/2026, published on July 27, amends the Code of Criminal Procedure with an entry into force expected on September 1. Even before it begins to be applied, defense lawyers have already identified a distortion of the right to defense, pointing out what they consider to be judicial abuse through the procedural mechanism known as "dilatory tactic."

Fires: Government recognizes Vouzela and Valpaços blazes as natural disaster

The Portuguese Government recognized as a natural disaster the rural fires that affected the municipalities of Vouzela and Valpaços between July and August, allocating ten million euros to support the affected agricultural holdings.
