Gang violence in Haiti has reached unprecedented levels, with armed groups controlling approximately 70% of the capital Port-au-Prince and other areas of the country's central region. The attacks include massacres and mass kidnappings, resulting in the forced displacement of one and a half million residents. The humanitarian situation has deteriorated drastically, with the civilian population being the main victim of the conflict between criminal factions fighting for territorial control.
The European Commission announced the mobilization of one million euros to provide urgent health care, food and shelter to victims of the floods that affected northern Nepal, in the region along the border with China. This funding aims to support the necessary humanitarian operations to respond to the emergency caused by the floods in the Asian country.
