AI is once again being widely used to spread misinformation

The monthly report from the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) indicates that the percentage of fake news created or manipulated using Artificial Intelligence increased again in June and July, after a decline observed in April and May. The phenomenon is associated with the growth of conspiracy theories and climate denial, with AI being used as a tool to amplify disinformation on digital platforms.
