The centenary of birth of Berta Loran, one of Brazil's greatest comediennes, will be celebrated with the play "Berta – My Life on a Stage," with text by Miriam Halfim and Marcelo Aquino, and directed by Ary Coslov, premiering on September 4 at the Centro Cultural Justiça Federal. The production revisits her trajectory from her childhood in Warsaw, Poland, until her death at 99 in 2025, in Copacabana. She arrived in Brazil at age 9 fleeing Nazi persecution and, encouraged by her tailor and actor father, entered theater as a teenager, building a career of almost eight decades with more than 2,000 characters portrayed.
