Sánchez unleashes ministers against Robles over her version of the CNI alert in Ceuta: "Nobody understands it"

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General26 August 2026 at 19:06

The Spanish Defense Minister, Margarita Robles, has been the protagonist of several conflicts with colleagues on the Council of Ministers, including clashes with Félix Bolaños over the official secrets law and with Fernando Grande-Marlaska over jurisdictional matters. However, her version of the Ceuta crisis, asserting that the National Intelligence Center (CNI) warned about the mass entry of immigrants, represents a qualitative leap in one of the most sensitive issues of the legislature. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is said to have launched the ministers against Robles over this matter, since no one understands her version of the events.
