Desenrola Fies: deadline to renegotiate student loan debts extends until September 16

The deadline to join Desenrola Fies, a program that allows the renegotiation of Student Financing Fund (Fies) contracts, ends on September 16. Eligible students include those with contracts signed up to 2017 who were in the amortization phase as of May 4, 2026, including both those in good standing and those in default. The renegotiation is carried out through Banco do Brasil and Caixa Econômica Federal, with conditions varying according to the profile of each contract and including discounts for upfront payment or installment plans. Students in default can join the program and have their names and those of their guarantors removed from debtor registries after the formalization of the renegotiation and payment of the first installment.
Portugal is going to buy 75 armored vehicles from Spain for the marines, in an investment of 120 million euros fully funded by the European Union. The first vehicles, manufactured in Spain, should start arriving in the country next year.
